SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Simpson University men's basketball couldn't get into a rhythm offensively this week in the NAIA Qualifying Tournament falling to Benedictine and University of Saint Katherine.
Â
The Red Hawks fell to BU 83-69 in game one as Benedictine moved onto the NAIA National Tournament.
Dylan Banks starred for the Red Hawks scoring 27 points, four assists, and three rebounds in the loss.
Â
In game two, Simpson remained ice cold from the field, 17-71 from the floor and 2-38 from beyond the arc. Despite SU's inability to knock down shots, the Red Hawks kept it close with good defense only allowing 69 points.
Â
The shooting performance was an anomaly for the Red Hawks, who have typically been a solid shooting team throughout the season.

Simpson men's basketball played one of the toughest schedules on the West Coast facing many of the top-ranked opponents across various leagues and conferences
