ROCKLIN, CA - Simpson University men's soccer fell to William Jessup on Wednesday, 4-3.

After the Red Hawks defeated the Warriors in their season debut, WJU even the season series on their home pitch after a solid first-half performance.

Simpson got the scoring started in the opening minutes when Ruben Barajas notched his second goal of the year on a tough volley to give the Red Hawks the early lead. From there, Jessup refocused and took control of the rest of the first half scoring three goals attempting 12 more shots than the Red Hawks.

SU made adjustments during the intermission and played a solid second half led by Joel Sterling who scored a brace in the losing effort. Sterling's second goal was assisted by Christian Guevara and allowed Simpson a chance to try and find the equalizer, but Jessup held them off.

The Red Hawks will be back in action Friday, February 19th beginning a four-game homestand as they will face Bushnell University with kickoff set for 2 pm.
