Box Score 2 REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's basketball began its 2021-22 season at home this past week with two wins against Northwest Indian College.
The Red Hawks dominated from the opening tip and never looked back winning both games by more than 50 points. SU nearly topped triple digits in both games.
After playing in a reduced season in 2021 due to COVID-19, Simpson begins this season with high hopes, with numerous new recruits hitting the hardwood and some key returners.
Dylan Banks is one of the key returners for Simpson, as he tallied 13 points and six assists in limited minutes in the blowout victory in game two. The Red Hawks had six players finish in double figures for the second game of the back-to-back and had 11 players get in the score column.
Defensively, Simpson was stellar, playing lock-down defense and making nearly every shot that NWIC took contested. Northwest Indian shot just 25 percent from the floor combined in the two games.
The Red Hawks are off to a hot start early on in their season and will head to William Jessup on November 1st to take on the Warriors. Tip-off is set for 7 PM.Â
