REDDING, Calif. - The Women's Soccer Team hit the road last weekend, falling to UC Merced and taking a win against Sierra Nevada College.
On Friday, Simpson faced UC Merced where the Red Hawks fell 4-1 after a close first half.
In the 7th minute, UC Merced took a 1-0 lead. Simpson quickly tied it up off a goal just two minutes later by
Haylee Ward.
But the Red Hawks were unable to hold off the Bobcats in the second half as they scored three goals.
Kiah Gridley recorded 11 saves for the Red Hawks.
Simpson would go on to end the weekend with a win against Sierra Nevada College on Saturday.
The Red Hawks scored two goals, the first by
Carolina Oropeza in the 4th minute and the second by
Haylee Ward in the 45th minute.
SU took the 2-1 win, making its conference record 2-1-1.
The Red Hawks will face the Benedictine RedHawks in Arizona on Friday, October 15th, at 5:30 PM.
