REDDING, Calif. – The Red Hawks were led by Senior
Precious Jackson en route to a 24-point victory over Pacific Union College. Simpson celebrated the career of eight seniors before taking on the Pioneers at home on Thursday, and SU found a way to send their seniors off with a W.
The Red Hawks took a seven-point lead after the first and would maintain that lead for much of the second quarter.
The third quarter is when SU really stepped on the gas. Led by Jackson, the Red Hawks scored 22 points without an answer from the Pioneers. Jackson had 11 points in the third quarter alone, adding to her totals of 20 points and 11 rebounds on the night.
Jackson was not the only senior to show out in their final game in front of their home crowd.
Whitney Armstrong filled the stat sheet with 11 points, four assists, two rebounds, a block, and a steal.
Alli Ramelli had a bounce back performance with 10 points and two assists in the win.
Although SU was led by seniors, the victory really was a team effort. 12 Red Hawks registered points in the victory, the most players to score in a single game for Simpson all season long.
The win at home elevated SU to 4-8 in conference play with just two games remaining for the year. The Red Hawks will travel to Riverside to take on the Golden Eagles on Thursday, followed by a face-off with UAV in Lancaster on Saturday.
