REDDING, Calif. – The Red Hawks took on the top team in the Cal Pac Thursday night and were unable to get their offense rolling, falling to the Pioneers of Antelope Valley 98-53.
The Pioneers were sizzling from the start in this game, forcing the Red Hawks to burn their first timeout after three minutes of play. UAV was led by starting guard Ronnie Rousseau III who had a big night, posting 30 points on 8-11 shooting from behind the arc.
The Pioneers held each of Simpsons players to single digit scoring. Guards
Dylan Banks and Christian Alvis led the Red Hawks with nine points apiece.

Harvey Barr got the start for SU and added six points and five rebounds in 15 minutes of work.
Zach Burns and Weston Vanderhazel each added five points of the SU bench.
Simpson takes the loss to the undefeated Pioneers and falls to 3-3, good for fourth place in the Cal Pac Conference standings. The Red Hawks look to add another victory before the second round of conference action begins as the La Sierra Eagles make the trip to Redding on Saturday night. The game against the Eagles is set to tip-off at 8:30 in the James M. Grant Center.
