RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Simpson University baseball got the brooms out on Sunday, completing the three game sweep of La Sierra University, 7-0.

Reynaldo Gomez was the difference-maker for the Red Hawks in the finale, throwing a complete game shutout, only giving up four hits and recording four strikeouts.

Simpson took the lead in the 2nd inning after Derick Kuhn singled home the first run of the game. Michael Driscoll then followed with an RBI single that scored two more Red Hawk baserunners to give Simpson a 3-0 lead.

The Red Hawks strung together a few more hits in the 4th inning double their advantage to 6-0. 

Simpson continues to close the gap on the 3rd spot in the conference standings as the Red Hawks are 2.5 games back of Marymount California University. The Red Hawks will look to keep their streak rolling on April 5th and 6th in a three game series with Providence Christian College at Tiger Field, with first pitch set for 3 pm on Friday.
