Ashland, Ore.Ā - The Red Hawks traveled North to Ashland Monday night to play the first of two back-to-back games in Oregon. SU started the game strong and took a seven point lead at the half, but the Raiders took control of the game with strong shooting from behind the arc in the second. Southern Oregon would go on to defeat SimsponĀ 77-63.
Three Red Hawks registered double digit scoring efforts and Freshman
Nathan Presnell lead the charge with 16. Presnell also led Simpson on the glass with eight rebounds.Ā
Kon AnguikĀ added 10 points, six rebounds, and a block for SU.Ā
Brycen Wight continued his strong play off the bench and was the Red Hawks next leading scorer adding 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists. As a team Simpson poured in a strong 27 points off the bench, outscoring the SOU bench by three and continuing to prove the depth of
Todd Franklin's roster.
Tate Hoffman led the charge for Raiders scoring 16 of his 21 points in the second half and sparking SOU's strong offensive showing in the second.Ā
The loss ended a four game winning streak for SU, the longest of the season. The Red Hawks will get another chance at victory in Oregon tomorrow as they travel up to Eugene for a rematch against New Hope Christian College.
