REDDING, Calif. - Monday night, Simpson women's basketball took a beating on their home floor to 2nd ranked team in the country, Southeastern University, 86-40.
The Red Hawks began the night taking the lead and knocking down three treys, but went cold from beyond the arc the rest of the first half. SEU's suffocating defense and fast break extended their lead and allowed the Fire to pull away throughout the night.
Simpson point guard,
Brianna Clark was on the only Red Hawk in double figures with 11 points and also added five rebounds. Turnovers plagued Simpson in the loss as the Red Hawks turned the ball over 30 times resulting in 48 points for the Fire.
SU hung around in the first half, but the Firepower from SEU took over in the second half.
The Red Hawks extremely tough non-conference schedule continues when Simpson takes Southern Oregon on Wednesday Nov. 6th in Ashland, Oregon at 6 pm.
