KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - On Saturday night, Simpson women's basketball lost to 21st ranked Oregon Tech, 71-67.
On day two of the Oregon Tech classic, the Red Hawks ran into the Hustlin' Owls, who bounced back after a loss to UC Merced the night before.
SU kept the game close early on and then exploded in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Owls by eight in the ten minute period. OIT regrouped and surged back to take the lead and the win.
Simpson was led in scoring by
Ruby Daube, who provided a spark off the bench in 18 minutes and tallied 13 points.
Alli Ramelli notched 11 points alongside a pair of steals and blocks and was a big proponent in SU holding OIT to 40 percent shooting from the floor.
The Red Hawks couldn't contain Amanda Constant, who recorded 26 points, on 16 of 19 from the free throw line. Constant's performance was a major factor in the Lady Owls home victory over the Red Hawks.
Simpson will return home to face rival William Jessup on Tuesday, November 19th, for a 5:30 pm tip-off inside the James M. Grant Center.
