REDDING, Calif. -  Simpson University women's basketball fell at home to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 75-35, Saturday night.

In what was a night where Simpson was unable to get hardly any shots to fall, the Red Hawks tallied their lowest point total of the year and lowest shooting percentage of the campaign. Embry-Riddle's suffocating defense forced SU into many tough shots and turnovers that then resulted in easy baskets in the other direction.

Shayla Smothers was Simpson's leading scorer with seven points and five rebounds of 3-5 shooting.

This game was SU's first loss in conference and put an end to a five game win streak. Despite the loss, Simpson sits tied for fourth place at 2-1 in the Cal Pac conference standings. 

The Red Hawks have a couple days before taking on PUC at home on Thursday as they look to get back in the win column in conference play.
