REDDING, Calif. -- The Red Hawks stifling defense held the Pioneer offense at bay as Simpson defeated PUC 62-49.
Simpson forced 13 turnovers and held the Pioneers to just 23.7 percent shooting from the floor as they coasted to their third conference win. The Red Hawks were led by
Alli Ramelli who finished with 11 points, shooting 3-5 from beyond the arc.
Madison Cox added 9 points and 6 rebounds, Estella Gutierrez totaled 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, and
Alex Cooper pulled down 7 rebounds to go along with her 8 points. Simpson is now ranked 4th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game, tallying over 31 rebounds per game.
The Red Hawks are now tied for second in the conference at 3-1 with Embry Riddle and Antelope Valley. Simpson looks to knock off the top ranked team in the conference, UC Merced, Saturday, January 12th, at 5:30pm.
