Men's Basketball Improves to 3-0 in Conference After Win Over Embry-Riddle

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University men's basketball's strong second half once again proves vital in the Red Hawks 82-76 win over Embry-Riddle.

For the second consecutive game, Simpson found itself trailing at the half, but the Red Hawks halftime adjustments gave SU the advantage. The Red Hawks shot 72 percent in the second half only missing six shots in 22 attempts while also knocking down seven 3's in eight attempts.

The Red Hawks went 11 players into their bench as Simpson got 21 important bench points after Brandon Moss, Tiyon Martin and Alex Ondrus tallied key minutes in the six point win.

The stat sheet was filled by Jalen Cooper, who recorded 12 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. Blake Trent tallied a career-high 27 points while shooting 6-11 from beyond the arc.

One of the best shooting nights of the year for Simpson and hitting a team season-high 10 3's on the night, the Red Hawks relied on their hot shooting in the second half to go on a big run to clinch the victory.

The Red Hawks improved to 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the Cal Pac and will continue conference play on Thursday Jan. 10 back at home against Pacific Union at 7:30 pm.
