LANCASTER, Calif. - It has been a storybook start to the 2018-19 season for Simpson men's basketball winning the first five games in conference, the fifth on an unheard of game winner. Thursday night however, the Red Hawks couldn't build on their momentum of the incredible one point win against UC Merced, falling to Antelope Valley, 101-67.
It was a uncharacteristic cold shooting night for Simpson, as the team shot just 35 percent from the floor. And it just so happens that Antelope Valley had one of their best shooting games in program history just below 67 percent .
SU was led by
Aaron Berry with 14 points and
JT Branch with 10. Antelope Valley's swingman, Christian Dayton had a nice night providing 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Red Hawks remain in first place, but now are tied with Antelope Valley at 5-1 and will face La Sierra on Saturday, Jan. 19th at 8:30 pm in Riverside, Calif.Â
