RIVERSIDE, Calif. - On one of the highest scoring nights of the year, Simpson's offense explodes for 108 points in the 18 point win over La Sierra.
Blake Trent did not attempt a two point shot all night, but still recorded 35 points while drilling a school record: (according to our records) 11 three pointers in 17 attempts putting him in the top 25 in the nation in total 3 pointers made.
But it wasn't all Trent's scoring that helped Simpson get the win, as
Aaron Berry also had a 30 point night to go alongside nine rebounds and six assists.Â
Tiyon Martin and
JT Branch were also in double figures combining for 21 points.
The Red Hawks finished the night above 60 percent from the floor, making it one of the best shooting performances of the year and the highest scoring game of the season.
SU bounces back after the loss to Antelope Valley to improve to 12-6 and 6-1 in the Cal Pac, which continues to be one of the best starts in Simpson basketball history.
The Red Hawks have little time to recuperate and will face Westcliff University on Sunday Jan. 20th at 7 pm to finish up the road trip. SU will be back home for a two game homestand starting on Jan. 24th at 7 pm against Northwest Indian College
