REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson Red Hawks began conference play Thursday afternoon as SU clashed with Providence Christian.
Men's soccer gave up the first goal of the match early in the second half from a header off of a free kick. The Sea Beggars scored the decisive goal on a set piece as well, but instead on a outstanding free kick.
Simpson's lone goal came from
Solomon Dutton in the 65th minute off of a through ball from
Anthony Ramirez that split two Providence backs.
Nyjel Buchanan added two saves to his season total which is already at the top of the Cal Pac.
The Red Hawks will be back on their home field on Saturday against Marymount (CA) at 1 pm.
