REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's soccer dropped the match at home against Marymount California University, Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks began the match in 5th gear as they take the lead on a curved free kick from
Alfred Kander that ricocheted off the post into the back of the net. Not long after SU extended its lead to 2-0 after
Ruben Barajas scores on a header off of a cross from
Anthony Ramirez.
Marymount quickly found its rhythm in the 2nd half as the Mariners began their comeback. Two quick goals after halftime followed by another goal mid 2nd half that gave the Mariners the lead and the victory.
In this hard fought match, the Red Hawks proved that they can go right at best the Cal Pac has to offer, however this time were unable to hold off one of the top scoring attack in the conference.
Simpson will travel on the road to Vallejo, Calif. and clash with Cal Maritime Sept. 29th at 1:30 pm.
