PASADENA, Calif. - Simpson Red Hawk volleyball began Cal Pac conference play Thursday against Providence Christian and failed to start league action with a win.

The Sea Beggars picked up the first two sets with Simpson right on their heels, but the Red Hawks countered with a third set win, 25-16. Providence regained momentum early in the fourth set and completed the match win, 25-19.

Miranda Cook was the only Simpson hitter to finish with double digit kills with 10 followed closely behind by Ashley Cervantes with nine to go along with 18 assists and 19 digs.  Marianne Soria recorded an impressive 29 dig performance flying across the hardwood throughout the four set match.

The Red Hawks are back at it Friday against Antelope Valley at 7 pm in Lancaster, Calif.
