KLAMATH FALLS, Oreg. --
Shayla Smothers posted a career high 22 points to go along with 8 rebounds, but the Red Hawks fell to Southern Oregon 85-73.
Simpson couldn't contain the fast paced offense of Southern Oregon as the Raiders had five scorers in double figures with Augustine and Iwami leading the way with 17 points a piece. But the Raiders were in foul trouble early, allowing the Red Hawks to capitalize from the charity stripe. Smothers went 14-16 from the line and
Madison Cox went 9-13, finishing with 13 points. Unfortunately, poor outside shooting plagued the Red Hawks in the second half. Simpson shot just 5-19 from beyond the arc. Despite the slow shooting night,
Blanca Casamort Vila and
Alli Ramelli also finished in double digits for the Red Hawks with 12 points each.
Simpson returns home to take on the Westcliff University Warriors on Sunday, November 18th at 3pm in the Grant Center.Â
