REDDING, Calif -- Head Coach Derrick Pringle Jr notched his 100th career victory Saturday night, as the Red Hawks took down the Westcliff Warriors 79-59.
Simpson was led by
Madison Cox who posted her third double-double on the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Estella Gutierrez and
Alli Ramelli also finished in double figures with 13 points a piece.
Back-and-forth play left the Red Hawks only leading by four at the end of the first half. But, by the end of the third quarter Simpson had stretched its lead to seven and in the fourth quarter the Red Hawks turned it on and outscored the Warriors, 28-15. Simpson's defense came alive in the fourth as well forcing 6 of the 15 total turnovers and holding the Warriors to just 5 made field goals.
When asked about reaching the 100 win mark Coach Pringle kept it simple and said, "I've just been blessed to coach so many talented players over the years".
Simpson has the next two weeks off before taking on the visiting Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls Tuesday, December 4th at 7pm in the Grant Center.
