KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Simpson University women's basketball fell to Oregon Tech on the road tonight, 63-55.

The Red Hawks overcame their first quarter woes able to come back to take the lead early in the fourth quarter. The closing stretch was owned by the Hustlin' Owls as they went on a 9-0 run to finish the game.

SU was led by Estella Gutierrez in scoring with 18 points, also nailing seven of seven shots from the free throw stripe. Madison Cox and Alii Ramelli were the only other two Red Hawks in double figures combining for 23 points.

Only 7 of 12 players got in the scoring column as they Red Hawks were outscored in bench points 22-7 as Simpson only shot 36 percent from the floor.

Simpson hung with right with another team that is receiving votes in the NAIA and continue to prove that there isn't too many teams the Red Hawks can't beat. Simpson falls to 4-5 on the young season.

SU is back at it once again tomorrow to take on Southern Oregon at 1 pm tomorrow in Klamath Falls, OR.
