REDDING, Calif. -- In a match of high powered offense the Red Hawks couldn't keep pace with UC Merced. Simpson was able to take set two from the Bobcats but would fall in four 20-25, 25-23, 15-20, 13-20. 

Head Coach Andi Rodriguez switched up the offense against UC Merced allowing hitters Ashley Collins and Miranda Cook to have excellent hitting nights.Collins led both teams with 15 kills on 33 attempts and Cook added 11 kills of her own. However, the Red Hawks' bright spots were not enough to overcome team errors as the Red Hawks finished with 32 hitting errors. Ashley Cervantes continued her standout senior campaign with 31 assists and 10 digs and Marianne Soria and Mariah Chavez both had solid defensive games as well. Soria finished with a team high 13 digs and Chavez added 10.

The Red Hawks travel to Angwin, Calif. to take on PUC in search of their first conference win Saturday night.
