ANGWIN, Calif. - Simpson University volleyball fell to Pacific Union College on the road Saturday evening, despite picking up a second set win.
The Pioneers were able to hold off late comebacks in three of the four sets from the Red Hawks to record their third win of conference play.
Simpson, still looking for its first win in the Cal Pac, was a few breaks away from pulling off the win, but PUC's ability to win key points was the difference-maker.
The Red Hawks were led offensively again by
Miranda Cook with 13 kills and
Ashley Collins with 11.
Ashley Cervantes tallied 22 assists alongside six kills.
SU will be back at home for two-day two-game homestand against Providence Christian and Antelope Valley on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
