REDDING, Calif. - Despite playing a game just the night before, Simpson came out with a bang. However, the Red Hawks fell to Providence Christian in five heart stopping sets. Simpson took sets one and three: 25-23, 25-10, while the Sea Beggars took sets two, four, and five: 25-18, 25-14, 15-9.
The Red Hawks played with force and as a team, but Providence Christian had too many hard-hitting plays to be stopped.
Libero, Marianne Soria, led the Red Hawks defense yet again with 21 digs. Both Ashley Cervantes and Madison Stouder were close behind with 16 and 15 digs respectively. Miranda Cook recorded 19 kills, followed by Ashley Cervantes with 13.
SU will travel to Arizona next week to take on Benedictine University on the 19th, and Embry-Riddle University on the 20th.
