REDDING, Calif. -- The Red Hawks walked away with a win in the final match of the 3rd Annual Simpson Volleyball Classic Friday morning.
Simpson dropped the first two games of the tournament to William Jessup and OIT but were able to fight back to finish the tournament strong.
In game one of the tournament Simpson put up strong offensive numbers as
Cameron Wallace,
Taylor Bachs, and
Nicole Morse finished with 8, 7, and 6 kills respectively. Simpson was unable to overcome the balanced attack from the Warriors as the Red Hawks lost in straight sets to William Jessup 25-17, 25-20, 25-16.
The Red Hawks took on Oregon Tech in game two and although
Ashley Job finished with 11 kills Owls, errors again plagued the Red Hawks as they hit just .067 in the match. Simpson again lost in straight sets 25-20, 25-8, 25-17.
Game 3 started off rough for the Red Hawks, as the Eagles took a 6-0 lead in set one. Simpson was able to battle back as they defeated West Coast Baptist 25-17, 25-14, 25-13.
Nicole Morse led all hitters with 11 kills on 25 attempts,
Ashley Job picked up 13 digs in the match, and Sara Salmon finished with 19 assists.
Simpson will head to Oakland for tournament where they will take on University of Rio Grande and  West Coast Baptist on September 8th.Â
