In game 1 the Red Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth off of a two run single by Derrick Kuhn that scored
Jared Bertotti and
Wilson Kessel. Benedictine would rally in the 8th to tie the game up 2-2 after Travis Hunt hit a two run homerun to left. In the 9th Kessel and Kuhn would again come up clutch for Simpson as Kessel lead off the inning with a double and later Kuhn would bring him home on a squeeze play giving Simpson the victory 3-2. Game two would tell a different tale for Simpson as Benedictine mounted a huge 6 run 3rd capped off by a grand slam off the bat of Travis Hunt. Simpson would tally 3 runs in the 8th but their rally came up short as they fell 11-5.
