Simpson defeated the Providence Christian Sea Beggars twice on Saturday to earn their first conference series sweep of the season. Simpson got a pair of excellent starts from
Zane Medeiros and Jarret Kirby. Medeiros threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and Kriby pitched 6 and allowed just 1 run on 5 hits. The Red Hawks offense exploded offensively scoring 10 runs in game one and 11 runs in game two.
Latrell Harris hit two 3-run home runs, one in each game, and finished 5-7 with 6 RBIs on the day. Simpson also received long balls from Derrick Kuhn (4) and
Jared Bertotti (2) which helped them secure the two wins, 10-2 and 11-1.

Simpson's 11 conference wins is the team's most since the 2010 season.
The Red Hawks 16 wins is a 12 win improvement over their total wins last season (4).
Derrick Kuhn is ranked 4th in the conference in batting average (.408).
