VALLEJO, Calif. - Simpson University women's basketball collects a road victory of Cal Martime Academy, 69-40.
The 29 point victory is the largest the Red Hawks have won by in conference play this season. Simpson began the first quarter on a 24-0 run that gave the Red Hawks complete control throughout the contest. The Red Hawks finished with one of the most balanced scoring attacks they have had all season, receiving 39 points from the bench. Â Simpson's defense suffocated the Keelhaulers, holding them to just 21 percent from the field for the game.
Simpson only had one player in double figures (
Whitney Rodriguez), despite having a large lead throughout the night. The Red Hawks as a team shot above 50 percent and grabbed 46 total rebounds.
Simpson, Benedictine, and UC Merced are all fighting for the 2nd through the 4th seed in the Cal Pac Playoffs. Â
