REDDING, Calif. -- The Red Hawks lackluster 1st half countered by PUC, as the Pioneers come back to beat Simpson, 88-80.
Simpson led by as much as 13 but slowly started to see it slip away as they were outscored 53-38 in the second half. The Red Hawks were led by
Josh Brakkee who put up 17 points and pulled down 7 boards while
Alex Huerta added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jayson Marquez paved the way for the Pioneer offense shooting 4-7 from beyond the arc and finishing with 18 points, leading all scorers.
With that loss the Red Hawks have been eliminated from playoff contention falling to 4-8 in conference. Simpson heads to Cal Maritime next Thursday to take on the Keelhaulers at 7:30 pm.
