REDDING, Calif. -- The Red Hawks allowed just six field goals in the second half, but holding the Owls to 21 percent from the field came up just short as they fell 73-71. The Red Hawks out scored the Owls in the fourth 17-10 after being down by as much as 15 in the third quarter. Simpson had four scorers in double figures:
Fallon Greenhaw,
Alyson Rippingham,
Madison Cox, and
Whitney Armstrong. Greenhaw led all scorers with 17 while Cox posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The game came down to the final seconds as a lay-up by Greenhaw brought the Red Hawks within two with just under three seconds left. Armstrong then stole the inbounds pass and put up a shot, but it rattled around and out.  Simpson finishes their preseason schedule at 2-10.
Game Notes:
Fallon Greenhaw continues to impress, averaging 14.2 points per game, the best of her career.
