ROCKLIN, Calif. - Another episode in the rivalry between Simpson and Jessup transpired Monday night. The Warriors began the game knocking down six of their first seven 3-pointers to take an early 18-7 lead and they never looked back. The physicality of the contest played a factor throughout as there was a combined 77 free throws shot between the two teams.
The hot shooting for William Jessup continued throughout the evening connecting on 17 of 25 threes. Simpson trailed by as much as 44, but rallied back in the second half to cut the lead to 25.
After an abysmal first half, the Red Hawks stabilized their play in the second period.
Aaron Berry recorded a game-high 20 points on 9 of 14 shooting including a couple acrobatic finishes at the rims.
Brandon Moss and
Jalen DuPree were the only other SU players to tally double digits on the night.
The Red Hawks have a week to prepare for their next affair against another ranked opponent, Southern Oregon, on November 7th at 7 pm.
