REDDING, Calif. -- Simpson University Women's Basketball opened the 2017-2018 season with a matinee matchup against Northwest University.

The Red Hawks started strong, extending their lead to as much as 11 in the first half, but couldn't hold off a second half surge from the Eagles. Fallon Greenhaw led all scorers with with 24 points going 10-10 from the stripe. Shayla Smothers added 10 points and Madison Cox put together 9 points and 7 rebounds. Alex Cooper dominated the glass pulling down 15 rebounds. 

Simpson travels to Arcata on October 25th and face off against Humboldt State in an exhibition game at 7:00pm.
