REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University men's basketball fell at home to Cal Maritime, 77-67.
The Red Hawks were in control in the first half and stretched the lead to 11 at one point, thanks to three triples from
Earl Schexnayder and ended up leading by 5 at the half.
The Keelhaulers came out in the second half firing, erasing Simpson's five point lead and extending their advantage to 15 in just 5 minutes. Daniel Radford scored 9 straight points to begin the half including an alley-oop that changed the momentum of the game.
The Red Hawks answered by cutting the lead to four with 3 minutes remaining, but late turnovers allowed the Keelhaulers to run away with a 10 point win.
Simpson was led in scoring by
Josh Brakkee and
Joseph Bosetti, who each finished with 19 points and shot above 50 percent on the night.
The Red Hawks drop to 2-5 in league play and will head to Arizona to face Embry-Riddle on January 26th at 6:30 pm.
