REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University Red Hawks fell at home to UC Santa Cruz in straight sets, (25-16. 25-19, 25-22).

The Red Hawks were led by Aimee Belleville, who ended up with eight kills. Ashley Job and Miranda Cook each had seven kills for Simpson.

Kirst talked about the need for improvement after the game.
"We're going to go over more of our serve receive. I think our coverage off of hits was far better than this last weekend, but our serve receive, we are missing something and we will figure it out before this weekend," Kirst said.


For the Banana Slugs, Tatum Novitzky finished with a game-high 12 kills and also had ten digs.

Simpson will face Embry-Riddle next, a team that knocked the Red Hawks out of the postseason last year. That game is set for September 23rd at 7 p.m. in the James Grant Center.
