Red Hawks Cruise to League Win Over La Sierra

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson women's basketball team open its Cal-Pac Conference home slate Sunday with an impressive 94-74 victory over La Sierra at the Heritage Center. Fallon Greenhaw (26), Kelsie Jurin (24), and Olivia Edwards (7) each tallied career highs in the highest offensive output of the season for the Red Hawks.

Simpson never trailed in the contest as the Red Hawks opened a 22-10 lead after the first quarter and didn't look back, building a 30-point lead at one point in the third period. The offense hit in all facets with SU shooting 54 percent (35-65) from the floor and 46 percent (11-24) from behind the three-point line. The defense forced 24 tunrovers and converted those miscues by the Golden Eagles into 33 points on the other end.

Esther Wofford recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Emma Limburg reached double figures with 10 points to go along with her team-high five assists. Wofford also grabbed four steals.

Korie Siets led LSU with 14 points as the Golden Eagles (1-1) fell for the first time in conference play. Simpson improved to 2-1 in the league and earned its sixth win of the season with the victory.

Simpson remains at home in Cal-Pac play Thursday when it hosts Pacific Union at 6:30 p.m.
