Merced Ruins Senior Day for Men's Soccer

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's soccer team fell to UC Merced on senior day 7-2, Saturday afternoon at the Simpson Soccer Field.

The Bobcats got off to a quick start scoring their first goal within 17 seconds of the match. From then on the Red Hawks would see UC Merced score four more, as they headed into halftime down 5-0.

In the second half, the Red Hawk's Jacob Muniz and Noah Miranda would each score a goal, but it wasn't enough as UC Merced would score two goals as well for a 7-2 victory.

The Red Hawks say goodbye to seniors Caleb Ikwuagwu and Myers Koffa as they played in their last home game at Simpson Soccer field.

Simpson returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 12 for the Cal Pac Championship. Kick-off is set for 11:00 a.m. in Wilmington, CA.
