Biography

College: Esse is entering her second season playing for the Lady Red Hawks.

High School: Esse played three years of varsity softball at Ayala High School, where she also played basketball. Her softball honors include being varsity captain, Defensive Player of the Year (2014), an all-tournament selection (2014), an Inland Empire Senior All-Star (2013), and Most Improved Player (2013). Her academic accomplishments include being a Distinguished Scholar Honors graduate, a Sierra League Senior Scholar and a four-time scholar-athlete. She played club softball for the Corona Xpress.

Personal: Rachel is the daughter of Rick and Donna Esse. She enjoys watching and playing all sports. Her career goal is to go into the medical field.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I came to Simpson to grow in my faith and receive a great education, while playing the sport that I love."
