College: Powers is entering her first season playing for the Red Hawks. She was named to the Dean’s List in fall 2015.

High School: Powers played four years of varsity softball at Aloha High School. She also played basketball and water polo and ran cross-country. She received first team all-honors in 2015 and her team won the conference championship in 2013. She played club softball for the Aloha Breeze and Team Mizuno NW.

Personal: Emily is the daughter of David and Tami Powers. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, wake boarding, water skiing, hiking, and playing sports. Her career goal is to go into elementary education.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson University because of the small class sizes and because the teachers seemed to be invested in each student."
