2024: Mercado appeared in 21 matches and 76 total sets. He averaged 2.51 kills per set for a total of 191 kills, 1.30 digs per set for a total of 99 digs, and 0.34 blocks per set for a total of 26 blocks. Mercado received 2nd Team All-Conference honors as an outside hitter for the Cal Pac Conference.
2023: Mercado appeared in 19 matches and 67 total sets. He registered 168 kills with an average of 2.51 kills per set, 91 digs with an average of 1.36 digs per set, and 34 blocks with an average of 0.51 blocks per set. Mercado received All-Conference Honorable Mention honors as an outside hitter for the Cal Pac Conference.
2022: Mercado appeared in 14 matches and 35 total sets. He recorded 86 kills and 21 blocks to go along with an average of 2.46 kills and 0.60 blocks per set.
Personal/Prep: Mercado grew up in Manteca, CA where he played for 4 years on the varsity team at East Union High School. Mercado won MVP of his conference his junior and senior year as an outside hitter as well as being selected for the Optimist all-star team his senior year. He also played for Rage Volleyball Club.
