Francisco Basurto started his first year as an assistant for the men's soccer program in August 2017. He brings a wealth of knowledge to Simpson University as this is his fifth year coaching collegiate soccer. He started his coaching career as head coach at Kaskaskia College where he spent two years. Then he went on to coach at Southwestern Oregon Community College. He spent two years at this program as an assistant coach. In his second year there, they went on to playoffs for the first time in 8 years.
Francisco Basurto is proud native of southern Illinois where he graduated Kaskaskia College where he earned his Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. He is happily married to his wife Kylie of 5 years.
