Caleb Ikwuagwu

Caleb Ikwuagwu was named head men's soccer coach at his alma mater in August 2017. A Red Hawk defensive mid for two seasons in 2014 and 2015, Ikwuagwu helped lead the Simpson men's team to a Cal Pac Tournament berth in his senior season.

After receiving a bachelor's degree from Simpson in Mathematics in 2016, Ikwuagwu served as a volunteer assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs at Simpson during the 2016 season.

A native of Aba, Nigeria, where he graduated from Living Word Academy, Ikwuagwu moved to the United States in 2011 as a full-time student. He began at Davis & Elkins in Elkins, W.V. before transferring to Shasta College in Redding. From Shasta, where he played two seasons for the Knights in 2012 and 2013, Ikwuagwu moved to complete his degree at Simpson.

Ikwuagwu is also currently enrolled in Simpson's graduate degree program in Education and completing his teaching credential as well.

The oldest of six children of his Nigerian parents and the only to have moved to the United States to complete an education, Ikwuagwu grew up playing soccer barefoot everyday in the streets of Aba. At times, when no soccer ball was available, he and his friends would use cans or plastic bottles to fill their passion and love for the game.
