ASHLAND, Ore. - The women's soccer team dropped a road match against Southern Oregon 2-1 today in Ashland, OR.
The Raiders drew first blood in the 10th minute of the game as Tori Lasch found the back of the net off an assist by Macie Yannoni.
The Red Hawks responded in the 19th minute as Clair Brown scored her first goal of the season off a combined assist by
Malia Bolden and
Anahi Gomez.
The early scoring slowed as both teams held each other off the scoreboard for the rest of the first half.
The Raiders took the lead coming into the second half as Elsa Voegele cleaned up a blocked shot by Ava Johnson to score the would-be game-winner.
Simpson had a much quieter second half as the Raiders outshot the Red Hawks 11-3 in the second half.
Jenna Sosa suffered the loss in between the posts as she notched six saves. Her counterpart, Ashlyn Fuss, picked up the win as she tallied two saves.
The Red Hawks look to bounce back on Sunday as they take on Evergreen State College to lose out its preseason schedule.
