RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Simpson men's volleyball team took down La Sierra tonight in straight sets to begin their SoCal road trip. 

The Golden Eagles held the early 4-3 lead before the Red Hawks went on a 10-3 run to take the 13-7 lead as Dehryn Brown notched a kill and an ace, while Cal Pac Defender of the Week, Diego Chavez, posted two kills and a block. 

Simpson rolled to the 25-15 victory on back-to-back kills by Akira Davies and Brown. 

Holding onto a three-point lead in the second set, the Red Hawks went on a 5-1 run to take the second set 25-18 as Afatia Thompson Jr., Chavez, and Davies all posted a kill and a block. 

Back-to-back kills by Brown gave Simpson the early lead to begin the third set before the Golden Eagles pulled within one, 21-20. 

Brown posted the final two kills of the match to give Simpson the 25-22 victory to take the match in straight sets. 

Brown had a stellar night as he posted 12 kills to go along with a dazzling .458 hitting percentage on the night. 

Chavez played a huge role in the front row as he notched seven blocks and five kills on 10 attempts. 

The Red Hawks are back in action tomorrow night as they take on Soka University at 6 pm.
