ASHLAND, Ore. - Simpson's beach volleyball team fell against the University of Portland 4-1 and No.4 Southern Oregon 5-0 to wrap up play in Oregon.
Simpson started strong by taking the first match of the game against the Pilots.
Kimora McKechnie and
Brooklyn Jimenez took the first set convincingly, 21-14, before narrowly dropping the second set 21-18 to force a decisive third set. McKechnie and Jimenez took the third set 19-17 as they took down U of P's Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson.
The Red Hawks' fifth pair,
Kiersti Howell and
Alexia Andaya, narrowly lost the first set 22-20 before falling in straight sets, 21-15.
The Pilots roared back as they won the next four matches without dropping a set to take the duel victory 4-1.
Simpson concluded its weekend by taking on No.4 in the country Southern Oregon for the second time in as many days.
The Raiders displayed true dominance as they completed the 5-0 shutout while sweeping all 10 sets as they held Simpson to under 13 points or fewer in each set.
Simpson looks to rebound as they head to Bushnell on Friday to take on the Beacons at 2 pm.
