ROCKLIN, Calif. - The men's volleyball squad fell tonight in Rocklin, CA, against Jessup University. 

Jessup jumped out to the early 8-2 lead and never looked back as they took the opening set 25-14. 

A pair of kills by Dehryn Brown and an ace by David Raffaelli gave Simpson the early 4-2 lead. A huge block by Afatia Thompson Jr. tied the game at 19 before the Warriors reeled off three straight points to take the 22-19 lead as they closed out the second set 25-21. 

Simpson did not go quietly as they held the 19-16 lead in the third set, off a kill by Thompson Jr., but the Warriors went on a 5-1 run to take the late 21-20 lead. 

The Red Hawks countered with three straight points on a kill by Brown and a block by Thompson Jr. to move into set point territory before a kill by Brown sealed the third set 25-23 victory. 

But the Warriors proved too much in the fourth set as they took the set 25-12 to take the match in four sets. 

Brown had himself a night as he recorded a team-high 16 kills and eight digs while posting a .364 hitting percentage for the game. 

David Raffaelli had another solid game at the setter position while posting 28 assists, one block, and one ace. 

Simpson looks to bounce back as they return home this Wednesday to take on Hope International at 7:30 pm.
