Parker and Allen leads the Red Hawks past the Eagles

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Timothy Parker and Nian Allen helped lead the Red Hawks past Northern New Mexico College tonight, 90-83.

A good jumper by Dylan Harms got the Red Hawks on the board before back-to-back buckets by Allen gave Simpson the 12-10 lead.

Simpson continued to roll as they scored eight straight points while Parker put home a huge dunk and Harms connected from beyond the arc twice to give Simpson the 20-10 lead.

The Eagles stayed within striking distance as they pulled within one point with just under three minutes left in the half.

But Simpson responded with back-to-back buckets by Allen and Parker to extend Simpson's lead back to five points with just over a minute left in the half.

Simpson entered the half clinging to a two-point lead, 41-39, with Allen leading the team with 13 points.

The Red Hawks and Eagles went back and forth as they exchanged buckets, as they saw six lead changes between the two teams.

A three-pointer by Michael Wood midway through the second half gave Simpson the two-point lead, 56-54, and they never lost the lead to take the 90-83 victory.

Parker led the team with 27 points and six rebounds, while Allen added 21 points and six rebounds.

Harms and Jack Jillson rounded out the double-digit performances with a combined 23 points.

With the win, Simpson moves into first place in the Cal Pac standings as they took sole possession after jumping Northern New Mexico.

The Red Hawks are back in action as they hit the road to take on Pacific Union College this Saturday at 8:30 pm.
