Simpson grabbed its first lead of the game as Marshall drained a three-pointer to give Simpson the one-point advantage to begin the second quarter.

But the Keelhaulers answered back as they outscored Simpson 12-2 to take the 41-31 lead to go into the half.

Back-to-back buckets by Marshall and Nichols helped spark the Red Hawks' comeback as they went on a 19-6 run to pull within four points, 56-52.

A three-pointer by Moriah Bowles pulled Simpson within one before a layup by Nichols gave Simpson the 68-67 lead.
