PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Red Hawks golf team took part in the Cal Pac/Frontier Conference tournament this past week in Phoenix, AZ at the Papago Golf Club.
Coming off a victory at the Cal Pac Showcase, the men's team played well again as they earned a second-place finish amongst seven other schools in the tournament qualifier.
The Red Hawks came in second behind first-place winners, Rocky Mountain College.
Simpson's men's team consisted of
Trey Alwert,
Justin Kiester,
Fynn Junghans,
Ty Salvador, and
Drew DeGeorge while four of them finished top ten individually.
Alwert led the men's team with a 2nd place finish with a -1 as he earned 70/73/72 over the three-day tournament. Alwert proved to be one of three golfers to finish under par over the three days.
Kiester finished 7th with Junghans following close behind with an 8th place finish as Salvador came in 10th place.
On the women's side,
Michelle Euan and
Addison Jones competed individually as Euan finished 5th with Jones placing tied for 18th.
Alwert and Euan had a strong showing as they led the charge and had the lowest scores among all Cal Pac golfers on their respective fields.
