Simpson hosts four team dual meet

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson wrestling team hosted its first annual Red Hawks December dual meet.

The Red Hawks hosted Corban University, San Francisco State University, and Southern Oregon University. The matches included a round robin style of play, with each team competing against the other during the evening.

The Red Hawks had a rough night as they started against Corban University, and each match went back-and-forth, but the eventual victor was Corban with its strength in the upper weights.
Southern Oregon proved very tough to handle as they overpowered most of the match. The Raiders proved why they are a top-five NAIA team in the nation as the Raiders handed the Red Hawks one of their biggest loss in the last few years.

Simpson turned things around against San Francisco State University at the end of the evening. The gators came out strong from start to finish, and the Red Hawks were only able to score 18 points on the evening versus their 36.

The Simpson University wrestling team will travel this coming week to Kentucky to compete in the Battle of the Bluegrass to get back on track.
