Simpson dominates Bushnell at home to open the Simpson Classic

REDDING, Calif. – The Red Hawks kicked off the weekend as they hosted its Simpson Men's Basketball Classic. qBushnell struck first with an early three, but Simpson quickly responded as senior guard Nian Allen scored the Red Hawks' first three points of the night, converting a layup and a free throw to tie the game 3–3.

Minutes later, Timothy Parker added a bucket from his own putback. Parker controlled the boards for the Red Hawks in the first half after picking up four rebounds.

The Red Hawks continued to control the pace, attacking the paint and pushing in transition. Allen exploded for 23 first-half points, consistently getting downhill and scoring at the rim.

Simpson outscored Bushnell 51–37 in the opening half, fueled by a 60.6% shooting from the field and a perfect 8-8 from bonus.

Simpson opened the second half with inside finishes from Dylan Harms and Aidan Rolfs. The Red Hawks maintained a double-digit lead throughout the game, responding each time Bushnell tried to make a push.

Defensively, Simpson controlled the glass and limited second-chance opportunities. Parker and Rolfs led the Red Hawks on the glass with a combined 14 rebounds.

Allen led all scorers with 31 points, followed by Parker, Rolfs, and Attebery, all in double-digit scoring. The Red Hawks dominated the interior with a 50–28 advantage in the paint points and continued their strong shooting to close out the win.

Simpson improves to 3–5 with the victory and continues play in the Simpson Classic tomorrow at the James M. Grant Center.
